Located on the 21st floor with sweeping views of Lincoln Center, this 2,000-square-foot residence was completely rebuilt to transform a traditional apartment into a luminous modern sanctuary and gallery-like home.

The original layout was defined by enclosed rooms, conventional finishes, and interrupted sightlines that diminished the impact of the apartment’s extraordinary views. The redesign removed restrictive partitions and reorganized the plan to create a more open, fluid relationship between living, dining, kitchen, and gallery spaces. With the interior opened, the New York City skyline becomes a central presence throughout the home.

The new residence is composed as a quiet backdrop for both daily living and the client’s diverse art collection. Crisp white walls, pale wood flooring, stone surfaces, refined millwork, and carefully integrated lighting create a serene architectural setting where sculpture, drawings, paintings, and collected objects can be displayed with clarity.

The kitchen was transformed from a closed service space into a sleek, integrated element within the larger living environment. Bathrooms were similarly reimagined with marble, frameless glass, floating vanities, and minimal detailing, replacing dated finishes with a language of precision and calm.

The completed design balances the intimacy of a private residence with the elegance of a gallery. Open, light-filled, and carefully curated, the apartment now celebrates what had previously been hidden: the art, the view, and the experience of living above the city.
