Ranch House, Watermill, NY
Spanning 2,600 square feet, this Hamptons summer residence was thoughtfully composed to navigate specific site restrictions and its location along a frequently traveled thoroughfare. To ensure privacy and acoustic tranquility, the architecture utilizes a protective language of massive materials on the street facing elevation. In contrast, the rear of the home features expansive fenestration that opens toward the private yard, fostering a seamless transition between the interior and the landscape. The resulting design yields a series of serene living environments, including open public spaces with a loft aesthetic. A refined palette of simple and beautiful materials is utilized throughout the home, where walnut flooring and travertine walls are complemented by the modern precision of glass and aluminum.
