Inspired by the legacy of the mid-century modern retreats that defined the Hamptons during the 1960s and 1970s, this residence reinterprets the language of the modern weekend house through a restrained composition of simple forms, natural materials, and a seamless connection to the landscape. Two distinct volumes organize the home, separating the expansive public living spaces from the more private bedroom wing while creating a clear architectural hierarchy.

The arrival sequence unfolds deliberately beneath a continuous floating canopy that frames the entrance and directs the eye through the house toward the lap pool and surrounding woodland beyond. This carefully choreographed progression culminates in a dramatic double-height living space, where floor-to-ceiling glazing dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, filling the home with natural light and uninterrupted views of the forest.

Warm cedar cladding, stone plinths, and finely detailed wood interiors establish a material palette that complements the natural setting while reinforcing the home’s quiet modern character. Generous terraces and expansive glazing extend the living spaces into the landscape, allowing the architecture to engage the changing seasons and creating a continuous dialogue between house, garden, and woodland.
