The Atlantic Beach House is a thoughtful transformation of one of Long Island’s rare 1930s oceanfront homes, locally recognized as part of “the ships” for their flat roof decks, geometric forms, and plaster façades. The renovation respects the home’s Art Deco origins while reimagining it for modern coastal living.

The home’s distinctive curved bay remains the sculptural anchor of the design, now framed by crisp white façades, expansive windows, and warm wood accents that bring rhythm and texture to the exterior. Previous renovations were stripped away to reveal the clarity of the original architecture, allowing the house to feel both timeless and newly refreshed.

Inside, soft neutrals, natural light, custom millwork, and a refined stair rail create a serene, elegant living environment. A reworked stair and circulation path improve privacy for the second-floor bedrooms while creating a stronger visual connection to the expanded roof terrace. By relocating the roof bulkhead, the design opens up a generous rooftop deck with an outdoor kitchen and panoramic views of the Atlantic.

At 4,500 square feet, the residence now seamlessly blends history and modernity, offering a light-filled coastal retreat that feels both familiar and entirely new.
