5th Avenue - Central Park

Situated along Manhattan’s prestigious Upper East Side, this residence commands sweeping views across the expansive landscape of Central Park and the iconic skyline beyond, including the sculptural towers of Billionaires’ Row. The design is organized around a carefully choreographed spatial sequence that begins at the entry gallery, where a strong architectural axis immediately draws the eye toward the park-facing windows. Upon arrival, the city unfolds as a living backdrop, establishing a powerful dialogue between the interior architecture and the ever-changing light, color, and atmosphere of New York.

The residence is conceived as a series of interconnected yet distinct environments, balancing formal entertaining with private retreat. Public spaces are organized around the central gallery, dining room, and living room, where expansive openings and framed vistas celebrate the apartment’s exceptional location. Beyond these social spaces, a more intimate collection of rooms, including three bedrooms, a library, home office, and kitchen, provide areas of quiet refuge while maintaining visual and material continuity throughout the home.

Materiality plays a central role in defining the character of the residence. The entry gallery introduces a custom terrazzo floor framed by precisely detailed oak borders, establishing a sense of arrival and craftsmanship. This pattern transitions into rift-sawn white oak flooring, alternating between plank and herringbone installations to subtly distinguish individual spaces while maintaining a cohesive architectural language.
Natural stone is employed as both finish and focal point. A sculptural marble fireplace anchors the library, while richly figured stone surfaces create moments of visual depth and texture throughout the home. In the powder room, dramatic veined onyx envelops the walls, transforming a utilitarian space into a jewel-like interior. The kitchen continues this material expression through the use of fluted stone, custom cabinetry, and carefully integrated detailing that elevates everyday functions into an architectural experience.
Custom millwork serves as the unifying element of the project. Fluted wood paneling, integrated shelving, concealed storage, and meticulously aligned wood grains establish a sense of order and refinement throughout the residence. These crafted elements not only provide functional organization but also create a warm counterpoint to the stone surfaces and panoramic city views.

Throughout the apartment, the architecture is guided by principles of proportion, alignment, and restraint. Sightlines are carefully framed, materials are selected for their depth and authenticity, and every transition is considered. The result is a residence that feels both timeless and contemporary—an elegant urban home where craftsmanship, material richness, and extraordinary views come together to create a sophisticated living environment above Central Park.
